The roads are straighter than George Bush. You could put the car on cruise control, fall asleep, and if you run off the road you'll eventually get back on to the same, straight road. 8. They lied about having the cleanest washrooms in Canada. They weren't that clean. 7. The cops in Swiftcurrent will pull a BC car over, even though there's nothing they can do about an out of province speeder. WE'D JUST IGNORE THE TICKET! What are you going to do? Follow us back into BC? 6. On the subject of Swiftcurrent, it's more like ReallySlowCurrent. 5. They have a small wooden bridge as a national landmark. 4. Why are there more than one Battleford? As if one isn't boring enough? 3. They share Lloydminster with Alberta... pick a side, already! 2. Coming out of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, there is a sign welcoming you to Lloydminster, Alberta. There is no sign the other way welcoming you to Saskatchewan. That should tip you off right there. 1. It's Saskatchewan. For all you Saskatchewankers out there, I don't apologize for hating on your hometown. I do, however, feel bad that it is, in fact, your hometown. You know as well as I that Saskatchewan will forever be Canada's asscrack. First of all, I want to draw your attention to the fact that I am no longer on Dublin time. I have switched to shudders Saskatchewan time, because it was the closest thing to BC time on the list of times I could choose from. Apparently BC doesn't exist in the MSN space/time continuum. Or, maybe it's just the Saskatchewankers getting back at me for hating on their hometown. I'd also like to point out that I realize I posted three entries the other day. Top Ten Reasons Why Rylan Should Give Up On Women As requested by a great friend of mine... here is my very first Top Ten List. Revel in my excitement. Here are the Top Ten reasons why my boyfriend should apparently become gay. 10) Because Jordan asked me to do this list. 9) He is too nice to be a straight guy... straight guys are assholes. 8) He likes wearing tight shirts. 7) All the guys he knows want to have his babies. 6) He watches Sex and the City with me. He pretends to hate it but I know he secretly loves it. 5) He is very anal about his hair. 4) He works out like a narcissistic gay man. Protein powder and all. 3) He's beautiful. No straight man could be that beautiful. 2) He is too good for most girls. 1) Jordan. Independence? So I've been thinking about this one for a long time now. Isn't it funny when people talk about how independent they are? No, I know that's not funny. But isn't it funny when people talk about how independent they are but then you look at their lives and they are still being metaphorically hand-fed by their parents? Yes, that's funny. It's like ok, maybe you live on your own and answer to yourself. But who is paying for your home? Who is paying for your food and probably your clothes because you don't work? That's right, your mommy and daddy. Look, my parents are helping me pay for my education too. Helping. I pay a lot of it too. I also buy my own clothes... maybe it's just me but I was never one to ask my parents for money, unless I needed say, 6 bucks to get over to Gabriola because my boyfriend forgot to give me a ferry ticket. But then I pay them back. Plus, I'm not running around telling people how much I have grown and how independent I am. I'm not saying you can't grow while you're still under your parents' roof, but it's harder than if you were really out on your own. But until you actually start paying your own way around life, you don't really understand what it's like to be truly independent. Let me break this down for you. If you have no money of your own, and your parents pay for everything, then you are, by definition, DEPENDENT upon your parents, yes? Now, I'm not saying that having your parents pay for your school and such is bad... it's great having your parents help you with stuff like that. But it's when you put on a fascade that you are so separate from them, when really, they still feed, clothe and house you, just not in their home, that urks me. Sure, you can be physically independent, but it's definitely not the same as being economically independent, and until you are economically independent, you can not say that you have grown significantly as a person, because, kid, you have a lot more growing up to do. Honk if you love Jesus silence OK, so I just went on to someone's blog and some guy left long winded comments about how God will save us and sinning is bad and blah blah blah. Then I went on to the guy's blog and it's all about how he's a servant of God and the power of Christ compells you and blah blah blah. This is ridiculous. Going on to people's blogs and leaving a comment like that, for someone you don't even know, is propaganda and soliciting all rolled in to one. This disgusts me. For those of you who know me, you know how I feel about religion. You know how I feel about people who push their religions on other people. On my scale of wrong-ness, pushing your beliefs on someone else is at the height of it. Believe what you want, but don't push it on others, unless they've requested it to be pushed on them. For people who believe that religion is all-encompassing (I'm speaking to Christianity, more or less), look at the history of the world. Christianity may have been important and powerful back before and during colonization, but since Confederation, it had gone into a rapid decline in the way of interest and belief in Christianity. This isn't because people are sinners, it's because people are smart and have other values and virtues to uphold. I am not trying to devalue religion, because I know that for some people (who are religious but DON'T try to push this onto others), their faith is very important to them, and I say more power to them. What I am saying is that for those who are over the top religious, trying to convert anyone and everyone, look at the facts, the real facts. Nobody is buying it anymore. You know where a lot of religions come from? They came from power hungry white men who wanted to be in charge of the masses. Again I say, look at the history. Also again I say I am not doing what I am fighting against in this blog; that is, pushing my beliefs on others. What I am doing is giving people the historical facts. History can not be denied. Round one: Religion vs. History. HISTORY WINS. Just another rant about annoying people I'm getting sick and tired of people thinking they have grown up so much and are so mature and even philosophical... YOU'RE JUST A KID! People who point out how much they've grown obviously feel they have to compensate for how much they really haven't. And people who try to analyze other people are so pretentious, like what right do you have, what professional experience do you have to do that type of thing! I am not analyzing these people... I am merely stating that they are annoying. I speak my opinion. I like to think that the whole high school back-stabbing and gossping thing is all out of my system, but I can admit that I enjoy a good gossip tidbit every now and then. I do not pretend to be much better than I really am... I'm a person with beliefs and values that are no worse and no better than anyone else's. Except for those people who believe they are better than others, of course:P I especially love the reaction people give when their less than realistic beliefs are being challenged... as if it's me who has the problem. Do you think I enjoy being a pain in the ass a little too much? So, there's my current addition to my ever-growing list of types of people I despise. I am not saying that I despise these people... obviously these are people that I know, maybe even friends. I love my friends. So I am saying that I despise the attitude that they are somehow superior to others. Get a grip. This doesn't even warrant a title I'm pretty bored right now... and I have nothing in particular to say. I'm sure I could think of something to bitch about. Um.. Why is it Thanksgiving in the states? Why do we have separate Thanksgivings? It makes no sense to me. Also, here's a thought about something completely different. What do you call a lighter version of blue? Light blue. What about green? Light green. Yellow? Orange? Purple? Same thing... light (insert color here). Now, what do you call a lighter version of red? Pink. Pink? Why does light red have its own name? I don't know why I thought of that, but it's interesting nonetheless. Nonetheless is a dumb word. Really look at it and tell me it isn't a dumb word... it doesn't even look like a real word. Oookie I need to find something to do. Hum... I'm reading on the side of this page all of the benefits of having an MSN Space... apparently I can keep in touch with people by doing this... interesting idea, seeing as how no one reads this. That's awesome. Keeping touch is great. Hum, also... I can create top ten lists. Because people really care what my top ten list for favorite movies is.
